“A man who trims himself to suit everybody will soon whittle himself away.”
I’m Heather, and what you see is just exactly what you get. I’ve been playing music for over 20 years, I’ve been performing for over 10. I make no pretenses; I just play music. You might call it folk, you might call it rock, you might call it alternative folk or any of the other names for the pigeon-holes of musical genres. Whatever it is I play, it’s honest. No gimmickry, no smoke and mirrors. Just music. Just words. Just life.
When I’m not being a musician, I keep myself out of trouble by helping my husband run the family farm, shuffling books part-time at the library, or writing fiction (short stories).
Other things about me? I love motorcycles, and used to own one (I plan to again… Ninja 250R you are mine!). Edgar Allan Poe and William Shakespeare are my literary heroes. I am an avid supporter of the Second Amendment and exercise my rights to put food on my own table. I was born in the Year of the Ox, and cows are my favorite animal (I find it appropriate). I have been carded for ordering water at a bar (!). If I could learn to speak any language, it would probably be Anglo Saxon. I was the second person in my family to attend college, and I was the first to get a Bachelor’s degree (English Lit, minor in Music). I love travel, but hate being in cities because I miss being able to see the stars at night.
I’m incredibly quirky and not afraid to show it.
